Or more accurately, Philip Pullman loves Oxford. And I'd really like to be there right now.

There was a call for extras during the filming of an adaption of Philip Pullman's The Butterfly Tattoo. They're filming a ballroom scene tonight, and there's an open call for anyone in Oxford who'd like their names in the credits. It would have been awesome to be in the movie, but no worries. A bunch of my friends were planning to go, so I hope it went well for them. I'm sure they had a fantastic time. :D

But I've been having a great time here in Florida while I still can, and tonight is going to be brilliant. I always love Halloween Horror Nights, and I'm sure that tonight will be no exception...

Oh foo for Philip Pullman! He is a snooty-pants for filming too early. Besides, I think the intellect and beauty you radiate would break the camera's lens. IT IS UNCAPTUREABLE.

Maybe they'll have need of winter shots, so they'll still be there when you get back? Of course, the way karma works, you'll probably run into the man himself at some point. The island's not that big! Squee!

Have fun at scary place. Be brave in my stead. I'm going to go hug a pillow.

I start my journey tomorrow. Which explains why I'm still up at this hour; packing and all that. I should be back in the city by Wednesday afternoon.

Do you have any collections this term?

Have a safe journey. Collections? Not as far as I'm aware, thankfully. Do you?

It would be good to meet up with you once you are settled into the flow of term and Oxford.

Yeah, I have a statistics one on Friday; oh joy, oh rapture...

Yes, indeed. Of course, I'll probably need to get over my jet-lag first. Nobody enjoys trying to have a conversation with a jet-lag zombie.

Oh, and I must ask: what exactly is Halloween Horror Nights? And is it not a month too early?

I'm actually very lucky that it begins in late September; otherwise, I'd never get the chance to go.

Halloween Horror Nights is when Universal Studios (a theme park here in Florida) opens at night and dedicates itself to scaring the dickens out of hundreds of paying guests. Each year has a different scary theme, and the whole park is transformed. You have to be prepared to scream, because there are plenty of actors waiting in the shadows to jump out and scare whoever's walking past, not to mention the various haunted houses set up throughout the park.

It may not be for the faint-hearted, but I love it.

Hello Secondary Characters!

I'm sorry we didn't get to too many Haunted Houses, but at least we got to see Bill and Ted. *Air Guitar*
