Yes, I'm still awake from last night. I'm trying to nip this whole "Yay, I'm nocturnal" thing in the bud today. I'll be trying to stay up through the entire day, so if you're bored, feel free to drop me a line or give me a call. The only way I'll be able to pull this off is to keep my mind constantly occupied, so any distractions would be lovely.

I saw a beautiful sunrise today when I took my dogs for their morning walk, and the beauty of the day because even more ethereal when a flock of white ibises decided to stroll through my backyard. Sometimes it pays to live in a neighborhood that doubles as a bird sanctuary. Of course, Siriah (my little dachshund) wanted to take a closer look and spooked them. They took off, almost as one, and wheeled away over my roof. I've actually never been that close to a flock of large birds, and it's hard to describe the sound of their wings. It was like a combination of a rustle and a whisper of sound. Now I can understand why ancient people would decide that angels should have large white wings. Lovely way to start my morning.

I'm going to be spending a lot of my free time today on the next segment of [livejournal.com profile] our_resistance, and I'm going to post it by the end of today. Or die trying.

For those of you that are bored, I bring you various quizzes )

Some are pretty silly, but all are worth giving a shot when you have nothing better to do. I found them to be reasonably accurate, but then again, maybe I have the kind of personality that's easily stereotyped into blog quizzes.

As for the past weekend, it was quite fun. Several "firsts" for me. Shini and Irene invited me to come along with them to a garage band concert. In fact, they were willing to actually drive back to get me, and were also willing to wait for me to get ready. It was very sweet of them. As for the event itself, I have to say that I was impressed. Not all of the music was to my usual tastes, but I have to say that everyone who performed there was a true musician.

Cold receptions, thy name is Kaleidoscope. Heh, but then again, I was expecting as much. You can't be friends with everyone in the world, and I'd have to say that I'm more of an "acquired taste" anyway. In any case, it was nice to see Garrett, and he made my time there enjoyable as well. It seems that we missed seeing the other [de]Toxic Soapers there, but hey, you can't win them all.

My other first is my first pimping. That's right. Someone, without being coerced at all, put a good word about [livejournal.com profile] our_resistance in their own journal. And that someone was a lovely young lady by the name of Rachel ([livejournal.com profile] sinister_beauty). If you haven't had the pleasure of her acquaintance yet, I would highly suggest heading over to her journal and dropping her a line. She's been trying to accumulate one thousand comments, after all.

It's a worthy cause, I assure you.

Well, I'm still awake. Lovely for me, right?

In any case, I'm hoping to get everything that I've been working on finished and edited to my liking today.

We'll see what I'm able to pull out of my hat.

Okay cats and kittens, here's the skinny:

Tonight, at Barnes and Noble. The sixth Harry Potter book is coming out at midnight, after several hours of games, prizes, fun, etc. Be there, or be square.

In other news, I need all of the boys who are in [livejournal.com profile] our_resistance to post a comment here with a number between one and twenty. Yes, that's right. I have something devious up my sleeve.

Hopefully, I'll see everybody later tonight.

I'm about halfway through Microbes and Man, which I'm enjoying. It's making me a bit paranoid, though. It talks about some pretty gross stuff...

I just finished an incredible fic the other day. It's a Lord of the Rings alternate universe story involving what might have happened if Boromir hadn't died at Amon Hen. This fic is deep, gory, gut-wrenching (literally) and heart-breaking. I would recommend it to anyone who's seen and enjoyed LotR, even if you aren't used to reading fan fiction. That means you guys as well as the girls. It's something that everyone should read.

Also, Alex ([livejournal.com profile] alexanderditto) was kind enough to post commentary on [livejournal.com profile] our_resistance. I can't thank him enough for all of his support, and more importantly, his critique of my work. Now that I've finished blubbering over Boromir, I'll have some extra time to write. I'm planning to update once I've written two separate posts, to kind of make up for all the lost time and waiting I've caused.

Wish me luck. I'm going to be typing away like the madwoman I am.

Eh...

This is uncomfortable for me, but here goes.

[livejournal.com profile] our_resistance seriously needs more members. I'm going to be working on it as much as possible this summer, and I'll need feedback. I know for a fact that it needs constructive criticism, and I promise that I'll let you guys choose who/what I'm going to write about next if you join.

Everyone who has already discussed being in it with me needs to join, just for the sake of my sanity. The same goes for those of you that are already in it.

Laura was a sweetie and helped me set it up, and Richard has already commented a bit, so uber-thanks to you both. You've been so supportive.

Rene, Alex, Grant, Ethan, Garrett...

Please?

Anyone else who sees this is more than welcome to check it out, join, and/or comment. The more, the merrier.

Seriously.

It's Friday night, and everybody's out having fun...except me.

But that's alright. Tomorrow I have to take the SAT II Math test. So by having a boring evening, I'm ensuring that I'll get plenty of sleep. Which I need, because I felt like Death itself today. So very sick.

I can't work on my writing project for [livejournal.com profile] our_resistance tonight because of the studying that I'm doing. Study, study, study...

Well, that doesn't matter. It will all be over soon.

In other news, my mom talked to the Administration yesterday while she was buying my Honors cords for Graduation. She mentioned that after Monday's AP exam, there wouldn't be much reason for me to show up at school. After all, I won't be getting much work to do from that point on or (probably and hopefully) taking Senior exams.

They agreed with my mom that I had worked really hard this year, and realized that I had most of my absence days still saved up. So they said that they would leave my attendence decisions up to my mom and I.

So right then and there, my mom wrote a note, saying that I could come and go as I please for the rest of the year. She dated it for May 5th, signed it, and handed it to them.

Unbelieveable.

So yeah. I could just decide in the middle of class that I wanted to leave, and just...leave. It's completely and utterly insane.

Oh, by the way, I love my mom.

We got our yearbooks today; and, needless to say, you will all be signing mine.

Or else.

In other news, I made my own LJ community last night. I'm much more savvy about this whole journaling and posting business. Such as being able to bold text or customize my journal. It's only taken me about a year to stop being lazy and just figure it out.

Yeah, you heard me. A year. Go figure, right?

If you are ever bored, you might want to check it out.

It's a little writing project that I've started, and I've no doubt mentioned it to many of you guys lately.

It's my little pet, and all commentary is welcome.
